Day 12:   Character Spotlight - Oogway

    "There are no accidents."

Although there are still a number of heroic characters in the franchise's story arc that we could spotlight, it's now time to conclude our focus on the franchise's main heroes. And we're going to do it with another popular favorite in the fandom: the infinitely wise Master Oogway!

Today's activity will have another open discussion, but I've decided to change the focus for today. Two reasons for this: (1) it's good to change things up a little so no one gets bored; and (2) although mainly based on individual perspective, there's hardly any questioning of Oogway's motives and qualities that make him purely heroic.

So here's what we're going to do instead today. I've seen Oogway quotes and saying everywhere on the web with KFP fans, and it made me curious which one they liked the best and/or they related to the most. In the spirit of this, I think it would be interesting for everyone to pick your favorite saying/teaching from Oogway and explain why it's your favorite.

Same stuff as before with this kind of activity: feel free to do repeats, add as many as you want, and add an image if you desire. But again, be lenient on them. Look through our Oogway gallery first before uploading a new image.

    Have fun! :)

Of cause I like "There are no accidents." most because this sentence really changed my life in some way. I simply looked different at (bad) things that happened and new there was a reason why I had to go through this...

...But I also love "Yesterday is history, tomorrow just a mystery but today is a gift. That's why it's called the present." - This too changed my life because it makes me look at things in a different way, which helps me to get over things that happened but not to worry about things that will happen... It simply helps me to cool down, focus on the here and now...and find my Inner Peace! ;-)

I love Master Oogway. He was so wise and caring, yet strong and powerful. He taught all of the masters of the Jade Palace something, including Po with his all famous saying, "Yesterday was history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift, that is why we call it the present." He taught me a lot about the soul of kung fu and how to be focused and wise in your decisions.

Also when I die, I wish I could surrounded by peach blossom petals that lifted my spirit into the stars like that!!! :)

Who doesn't like Oogway?... Calm and wise with a touch of crazy. He really made the first film special.

Not sure I have a favorite quote, but all his best ones seem to happen at the peach tree. And I did like "Awesome".

The most wise characther in this movie.. "Yesterday is History, Tomorrow is Mystery, but Today is a gift. That's why it's called present", the most wise quote in kung fu panda. "There are no accidents." the most popular quote in the francise... Everything he can solved with minimum fight or even with no fight.

The best Oogway saying is his response to Shifu when asked about who is worthy of The Dragon Scroll: "I dunno."

Despite his age and wisdow there are things that even he doesn't know the answer to. That is until a certain someone drops out of the sky providing him the answer.

So one can interpret this saying in the following manner: Some things and/or problems may appear beyond one's grasp and knowledge to solve. But never fret for a solution may suddenly appear from the most unlikely place.
