The Lin Kuei (also spelled "Lin Quay") is the name of a notorious gang consisting of nomadic wolves trained from birth to be master assassins and thieves.[1] They first appeared in the Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness episode "The Secret Museum of Kung Fu", where they fought against Po, Shifu, and the Furious Five for possession of the map and key to the Secret Museum of Kung Fu. They are led by Heilang.

Origins
Although it is unknown when or how exactly the Lin Kuei were first formed, it is known that they've been around for centuries. According to the gang's current leader, Heilang, the Lin Kuei's source of power was the Shadow Crowns before they were stolen from the Lin Kuei centuries ago.[1]

- The Lin Kuei's name references an ancient Chinese clan/cult of the same name, known for its secrecy and being the originators of Japanese ninjas,[2] though their historical existence is under controversy.[3] The name is now widely known through the fictional faction of the same name from the popular Mortal Kombat game series.
- The literal translation of "Lin Kuei" into English is "forest demons" (traditional and simplified Chinese: 林鬼?; pinyin: lín guǐ).
