Noodle-shop-illustration.png
The Noodle Shop is a popular noodle restaurant located in the Valley of Peace, serving as both a restaurant and home to its owners, the Ping family. Won by Mr. Ping's grandfather (Po's adoptive great-grandfather) four generations ago, the shop currently serves as a family business, protected with a "secret ingredient" in the noodle soup. The shop is currently run by Po's adoptive father, Mr. Ping, who takes pride in the success the shop has gained in his family. The shop has previously been named "Golden Harvest Noodle Restaurant", but ever since Po's success as the Dragon Warrior, Mr. Ping has started to also sell tofu and renamed the shop "Dragon Warrior Noodles & Tofu".

did you know...
  • ... that Kung Fu Panda, the first film in the franchise, uses a consistent "color language"? Certain colors symbolized certain meanings: Red was a color for power; blue was an evil or negative color; green was the color for knowledge and wisdom; and gold was the color for heroism.
  • ... that Po's full name, Po Ping, translates to "precious peace" in Chinese? It is written as 宝平 in simplified Chinese, 寶平 in traditional Chinese, and "bǎopíng" in pinyin.
  • ... that Mantis originally started out as a villain? Early in story development for Kung Fu Panda, Mantis was a traitor conspiring with Tai Lung from the inside as a member of the Furious Five.
  • ... that the Valley of Peace's landscape was inspired by the Li River Valley and Yellow Mountain regions of China? These are well known today for being large tourist attractions.
  • ... that it actually took 22,388 scrolls to fill up the shelves in the back of the Jade Palace's Hall of Warriors, even though there's only supposed to be 1,000?

Grand Master Oogway was an elderly tortoise and the previous senior master of the Jade Palace. He was credited as the creator of Kung Fu, founder of the Valley of Peace, as well as mentor to some of China's most profound Masters, including Master Shifu. Highly venerated for his wisdom, knowledge, and experience, Master Oogway was considered to be a sage. His passing seemed to come too soon for fellow admirers Po, Shifu, and the Furious Five.
