It is possible that this technique was one of signature and famous attacks along with the users as being easily recognized in their posterity. It is unclear whether this technique involves the spinning rotation while hand-standing on the staffs since Po noticed the technique while the twins doing so before leaping.

It is also possible that this, or similar technique has been used by other warriors and Po has actually seen the usage as how quickly Po noticed during the battle.

Badger Twins in jombie states used the technique to take down Po during the fight with the Dragon Warrior, Master Shifu, and Furious Five when the badgers and Master Porcupine were sent by Kai to assault on the Valley of Peace. Po, seeing the twins' motions to launch the attack on him, soon identified as the Crushing Double Gong Technique.
